It’s been long overdue to share Melissa & George’s Wedding from this past year at Strawberry Pines located in my hometown of Poteet, TX.
I will never forget the first time I met these two. Melissa had recently graduated from Tarleton State University ( My Alma Mater –TSU Pride right here!! #bleedpurple) and got engaged to George. When these two pulled up on the ranch, they instantly won me over with their country charm, and their beloved pup, “Ariat”, who was more than ready to be part of their engagement session.
Y’all see where this is going… TSU Alum + pup + country charm and ability to shoot the breeze and laugh = my kind of people.
I will never forget what George had told me that day, when I asked for him to hold Melissa’s hand and to tell her gosh knows what in her ear, he looked at me like a cow looks at a new gate and exclaimed, “You want me to do what?!” I smiled and said, “Oh GEEEEORGE you just wait! I have more in store just for you!” Melissa couldn’t stop laughing and this turned into comedy hour on the ranch. In the best sense possible, of course!
Then as small towns become smaller like they always do…it turned out in the following weeks my husband, J.T. and George started working together.
So to say the least by the time this wedding rolled around J.T. & I were 100% #teamgeorgeandmelissa and these two became friends of ours.
I am so honored to have been part of this beautiful day, it was truly beautiful because everywhere I turned there was a smiling face greeting Melissa & George.
A beautiful ceremony and despite colder weather, the warmth of love from their family and friends was felt. Some of my favorite scenes included, “Ariat” following Melissa everywhere she went from the makeup chair to the dance floor, to the close rancher friends that joked and carried on by the bar area, along with the two step and cry of steel guitar by cactus country. Oh and of course, all the sweet moments between Melissa & George, my favorites being their first look and their night time portrait session.
Weddings like this make what I do absolutely rewarding and I couldn’t have been happier to have been a part of it all!

Thanks to Ariat I will always want a big pup in these shots! I mean, seriously, isn’t he not the most precious thing you’ve ever seen?!
Such a sweet dog!!
Sandra with RRR totally knocked this out of the park, these chairs were used all night by those that wanted a comfy escape yet have a front row seat to watch amazing dancing and music.
Melissa’s guest quilt was such an awesome idea for their guest sign in! I loved it!
I told Melissa, “Oh hey don’t forget to put on your earrings!” and she replied, “I forgot them.” (shoulder shrug) I instantly noticed my earrings matched her wedding colors, and flowers in her hair… so this happened. Ha!
George to me, “What should I do?” Me, “Just be yourself.”
This.
Sweetest couple right here!!!
When I mentioned earlier that ‘Ariat’ didn’t leave Melissa’s side, I really mean he didn’t leave her side!
One happy little family!
The Ceremony
Melissa was very close to her grandfather that had passed, what a beautiful way to honor them.
Give me all the ceremony smiles!
And they’re married!
Such a fun bridal party!!
If this picture of the ring bearer, Ariat and flower girl don’t melt your heart, I have no idea what will!
Loved their first dance to Clint Black’s 90’s song, “When I said, ‘I do'”
Let me tell y’all something, these pies were HEAVENLY! So dang good!! Hayden Homestead did one fabulous job with these treats and the AMAZING coffee!!
D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S
Two stepping the night away to these guys was a treat!
From barely holding a hand at the beginning of the engagement session to this… y’all! I didn’t believe my eyes!!
Notice, they’re trying to get Ariat to be part of the garter toss. Ha!
Natalie with Snap Chic Painting created this heirloom painting from the ceremony that was breath taking. Just beyond gorgeous!!
And my new favorite tradition, night time portraits to escape the party for a few minutes.
This wedding was such an honor to be a part of and I cannot be happier for these two!!! I wish them nothing but endless years of marital bliss! Love you guys!!
