I'm Jessica, the owner of Under the Sun Photography, most days you can catch me chasing my lil son on our family's homestead and fixing up a meal that'll stick to more than your bones., along with baby goats by my side. I love everything about my rural South Texas, our heritage and way of life makes it one of the best places to live, raise a family, and practice photography. Sit back, grab a cup of coffee and feel free to scroll through my blog. Mi casa es su casa.

The Badillo Family Maternity Session

The excitement that a child brings to a family is such a heart-warming experience, I was honored to witness the happiness and anticipation that the Badillo Family has for Baby Rhyder and it was beyond beautiful. Rusty, Roxanne, & Logan were amazing to photograph in the midst of a summer sunset, the sun was glowing along with their excitement for this sweet baby girl.

Roxanne is a strong mother as she is a photographer & makeup artist and has continued to photograph throughout her pregnancy. Rusty is also an artist as he is a silversmith and is most known for his one-of-a-kind custom buckles.

As we all had a farming and ranching background it’s easy to say that we had a lot in common and shared quite a few laughs…especially when I squealed & jumped 5 feet in the air after thinking a snake struck… that ended up being my cell phone dropping on my foot! Talk about a good blush for days, and belly laughs to last Rusty & Roxanne the rest of the session. #embrassing

These two have a heart of gold and little Logan is just the sweetest little cowboy in the making!  I see wonderful things for the Badillos and can’t wait for this sweet girl to get here and be part of such a loving family.

Rusty custom made his wedding ring! Isn’t it beautiful?

Whoa! She is one lovely mama. The large black and white of her solo might be my fave, but it’s hard to pick, really. Lovely work for a really lovely family!
