Getting Ready at The Westin Hotel in Downtown San Antonio
Tasia and Cris began their special day at The Westin Hotel in downtown San Antonio, a stunning location with views of the historic cityscape. The spacious, light-filled suites were the perfect setting for the couple’s wedding preparations.
Tasia’s Spanish Mantilla
Tasia’s bridal look was timeless, with a stunning white gown, but it was her traditional Spanish mantilla veil that added a special touch of cultural significance. Following family tradition, both Tasia’s mother and grandmother also wore mantillas, passing down a cherished legacy through generations.
Meanwhile, Cris donned a sharp suit paired with a Guatemalan bead bracelet, representing his heritage.
Arriving to the McNay Art Museum from Downtown
Upon arrival, we photographed the groomsmen on the McNay grounds, where we had access until the beautiful main courtyard opened an hour before the ceremony.
Capturing Timeless Moments on 35mm Film
To truly capture the essence of Tasia and Cris’s special day, we incorporated 35mm film photography alongside digital images. The timeless quality of film complemented the historic charm of the McNay Art Museum and the rich cultural traditions of the wedding. The subtle grain and classic look of the film added a nostalgic and artistic touch to the photos. These film images will forever preserve the authentic emotions and beautiful details of this unforgettable celebration.
Bridesmaids Portraits in the McNay Private Courtyard
Originally, I was capturing their group portraits by the pillars, until I saw this beautiful golden ray of sun pop out behind the fountains. I knew it was slightly warm outside, but IT WAS WELL worth trusting my gut and moving to this spot. These tones are absolutely heavenly.
A Personalized Ceremony at McNay Art Museum
The wedding ceremony took place in the heart of the McNay Art Museum, a location known for its historic Spanish architecture and stunning courtyards. Tasia and Cris exchanged their vows in a deeply personal ceremony officiated by Tasia’s father. This intimate moment added a meaningful layer to the day as their family gathered to witness the union of two souls.
The mantilla Tasia wore during the ceremony, along with those worn by her mother and grandmother, was a nod to her Spanish roots, symbolizing grace and elegance. These traditional Spanish veils, beautifully crafted with intricate lace, were standout features of the ceremony, adding a timeless and familial touch to the occasion.
Spanish-Inspired Cocktail Hour with Flamenco Dancers
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour in the Spanish Courtyard of the McNay. The couple embraced their cultural roots by incorporating flamenco dancers, a vibrant display of Spanish culture that captivated everyone in attendance.
The dancers performed to the rhythmic sounds of Spanish guitar, filling the courtyard with passion and energy. It was the perfect tribute to the rich traditions that shaped Tasia and Cris’s heritage.
Tasia & Cris wanted to also be part of cocktail hour during family formal portraits to witness the Flamenco Dancers, so we chose this backdrop and it couldn’t have been more fitting for this wonderful family.

The Reception at McNay Art Museum
A Memorable Reception with a Touch of Humor
The reception continued inside the McNay, where Tasia and Cris, surrounded by their loved ones, celebrated their new chapter. The décor reflected a harmonious blend of classic and modern aesthetics, with elegant touches inspired by the museum’s artistic surroundings.
During the toasts, there was a hilarious moment when Tasia’s father and brother gave a playful nod to the McNay Art Museum by presenting personal paintings T&C had painted on a date.
In a lighthearted gesture, they jokingly attempted to auction off the paintings to “help pay for the wedding,” creating laughter and a moment of levity for the guests.
A Night to Remember with Power Sounds DJ
The reception was an absolute blast, thanks to Power Sounds DJ, who kept the energy high and the dance floor packed with a perfect mix of 2000s classic hits.
The atmosphere was electric when Cris jumped up on stage, and the crowd went wild! The excitement reached a peak as they cheered Tasia to join him, and the newlyweds sang along to the music, sharing a moment of pure joy.
Their friends and family followed their lead, staying on the dance floor all night, celebrating the couple’s love and this unforgettable day. It was a night filled with laughter, dancing, and memories that will last a lifetime.
The perfect ending to such an incredible wedding. An intimate private last dance.
