St. Anthony Luxury Hotel Wedding at Downtown San Antonio, TX
Kathryn and Josh’s wedding at the historic St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio was a truly elegant and sentimental affair, surrounded by their closest family and friends. For Kathryn, choosing the St. Anthony Hotel held special significance—it was a continuation of a cherished family tradition, with both her parents and grandparents having celebrated their wedding receptions at this iconic venue.

The Anacacho Ballroom
The Anacacho Ballroom was transformed into a stunning setting adorned with cascading white roses and elegant golden chargers, creating a warm atmosphere for this San Antonio family gathering. Standing in the iconic “Peacock Alley,” I couldn’t help but reflect on the fact that Kathryn’s grandparents began their journey as a couple right here over 50 years ago. Interestingly, the couple that won the anniversary dance shared this same sentimental connection.
The Presidential Suite – The St. Anthony Hotel
If you’re considering the St. Anthony Hotel for your wedding, I highly recommend booking the Presidential Suite for stunning portraits. This private space provided the perfect backdrop for intimate moments, including emotional father-daughter scenes against a backdrop of neutral-toned elegance and a charming fireplace.
All three generations together, that were married in this very hotel.
The Infamous “Peacock Alley” at St. Anthony Hotel
No visit to this boutique luxury hotel is complete without experiencing the Peacock Alley—a must-see space with its emerald green accents, elegant chandeliers, and inviting fireplaces at every turn.
How do our couples not see each other?
One common concern for brides with a church ceremony and St. Anthony reception is ensuring the couple doesn’t see each other before the ceremony. Our solution? Scheduled bus transportation—after bridesmaid portraits, the girls departed while I captured portraits of Josh and his groomsmen separately.
The Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was a heartfelt expression of love, followed by a delightful cocktail party in the grand foyer upon returning to the St. Anthony.
The reception space exuded joy as family and friends gathered in the exquisite ballroom.
After heartwarming toasts and dances, the celebration reached its peak with a lively lip sync battle between Emily, the bride’s sister, and Josh—a highlight akin to the CMA awards, joined by siblings and the radiant bride.
As a photographer, I particularly enjoyed the unique vantage point of the St. Anthony ballroom from the second floor, capturing vibrant dance floor moments.
The night concluded with the iconic ribbon send-off—a whimsical touch to end a magical evening.
We can’t praise this extraordinary wedding venue enough and eagerly look forward to hosting more couples like Kathryn and Josh at the St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio.
