A house is so much more than a place where we unload our groceries, eat, cook, sleep, or watch endless hours of Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix. It’s home. Our homes are where we can be our most genuine selves, wear mismatch pj’s, crank up the pandora and use a wooden spoon to have your own personal Taylor Swift concert with your toddler while waiting for the batch of boxed brownies to bake… just me?
Our homes become our place of refuge, it’s our place to build some of the best memories and a place that shields us when we are not. Homes become part of our family and are right there with us through all the seasons of life such as marriage and even a growing family. You can’t help but walk into a room and be flooded with memories. A place where your child took their first steps, your first Christmas as a married couple, or even that one pinterest fail dinner you cooked and smoke alarms galore went off in the house? Yep, been there!
Today on the blog The Barnett’s are saying goodbye to the little 1920s house on 21st street in Hondo, TX.
Lenton & Shay wanted to give the ol’ house one last farewell tribute with a one of a kind lifestyle session in their very first home. This home is where they spent their first years of marriage and also the very first home they brought their first daughter, Koen, from the hospital. It has been a home that they have truly loved and given TLC throughout the years. The home is a craftsman home with crafted memories, some of the most treasured being when Koen took her first steps and her signature ‘window peek’ to greet everyone that came through the front door.
Congratulations to my dear friends on closing on their new home and to always remember the little craftsman on 21st street. Cheers guys!
